Idol Elimination Round Top 11 to Top 10 on 3/19/08

Now we're seeing some REAL promise for the rest of the season!  Celebrity mentors coming up this season include DOLLY PARTON,  Mariah Carey (I'll die laughing if she says she's never met name-dropper Randy Jackson in her life), Andrew Lloyd Weber and Neil Diamond......!  I can imagine the group medley now.... All I Ask of You, Sweet Caroline, Working 9 to 5 on the Islands in the Stream in a Vision of Love...1..2..3..4..RIGHT turn, slide to the Right, turn left and SMILE

Tonight we get to hear Kellie Pickler perform-Im excited to see her again, as dimwitted as she is, she is still really likeable. Cant help but wonder about the status of those new "shoes" she bought last season, too.

The Beatles medly at the start of the show was only mildly terrbile-Amanda sure looked uneasy, though-although she was smiling and not looking as angry this evening. I wonder what she's thinking about-the Beetlejuice ensemble, or getting sent home before she makes the Top 10 and gets to go on tour and embarass the whole Idol machine?!??

The Ford video was as stupid as we've come to expect, although Im planning to go online to the Ford section of the Idol website to try to score free tickets to the Idol tour...

Q&A even more stupid this week than last-Im not sure if I can tolerate another week of inane drivel from "callers" without touching brain cells.  I'm still working on  my devious plan to say something really inappropriate before I get bleeped. It's a slow process but I think Im up to the challenge.

Good old Kellie performed and looked great-the song Red High Heels is typical country and I dont care for it, but I still love her. I thought she looked good, too-not as hard and tired as the last time she appeared on Idol-and I loved the way she sang to Simon, although it was creepy to watch Randy checking out her rear end. Loved her life story and that she says she feels the same, but just has a way better job now-what?!?? Working at Sonic is not her first career preference??  I guess going over to I-RACK to visit the troops and going to Las Vegas has turned her little head.

The Idol Gives Back guilt-a-thon is on Wednesday April 9th. Stock up on tissues and get your credit cards ready to donate.  I had to donate last year out of guilt, I dont expect to escape the guilt this year without making a donation either. It was nice to see Elliott and Fantasia, although mostly Elliott. I  hope he performs on the 9th.

Bottom 3 tonight-Carly (I'm not buying it for a minute-they do this to make you vote) Kristy Lee (no surprise here-has she ever NOT been one of the bottom 3?) and Amanda (hallelujah!!). And...drum roll........AMANDA is out.  I strongly suspect that the producers were texting votes for the other 10 kids to make she she got the boot this week-I can only imagine the embarassment she could have caused while on tour.....

And now we know who will be performing on the Live Tour.....hooray!!
