Idol Elimination Round-Top 10 down to Top 9    032608

Don’t forget to enter your original songs for the contest- it seems that minimal talent is expected-the winner may actually be chosen by random drawing based on  last yeaar's winning song "This Is My Now"….I’m working on my song right now and feeling very confident.  I’ve tentatively titled it “God Bless the Idol Machine” and it’s to the tune of "God Bless the USA"-hey, it worked for Kristy Lee “Crouching Kristy, Hidden Talent” Cook this past week!

Idol Gives Back coming up on April 9th……who would ever had guessed that it would be possible to promote it MORE than they promoted it last year?!??

Group performance of “Right Back To Where We Started From” was as ghastly as usual,  but I must say that Kristy Lee does stand out in the group numbers much more than in her solo performances.  She’s not bad.

Anyone else notice the kid from Ugly Betty sitting in the audience?? Guess they can’t do any sort of acknowledgement of him since he’s on ANOTHER NETWORK.  I can’t wait until they get some new shows back on the air-the only new stuff is Idol and I’m tired of TV.  Never thought I’d think that privately, much less admit it to anyone else.

The bit about making the recording of their songs for I-tunes was ok, certainly better than the Ford video.

Back to all the drama of “safe on the sofa, bottom 3 on the stools”……I hate the way it drags on and on for the kids in the bottom 3 (AND for me..this should be a 15-minute extended commercial each week, not an hour of filler and fluff)

Kimberly Locke performed this week-she may have lost some weight, but she certainly chose the MOST unflattering dress ever created. She looked like she was choking on her own cleavage.  Not sure your cleavage is supposed to be shoved up to your chin, it certainly looked uncomfortable to me, and the taupe color just made her look old and tired. Apparently one can lose a boatload of weight and still have upper arms that look like hams. Who knew?  STYLISTS?????? She sounded ok, not a performance I would have paid to see or hear, and I thought she looked a lot older than she did during Season 2 (5 years ago?  She looked 15 years older….she looked 45-ish to me)  Again, where were the stylists?!??

Bottom 3 this week…..hey, wasn’t that Constantine Maroulis with Gina Glocksen out in the audience?!??  Wow-MAJOR celebrity power…. this must be a really important show.....

Oh yes…Bottom 3…

Chikezie…no surprise

Syesha….no surprise

Jason?  SURPRISE!  Whew-he’s safe within 20 seconds and sent back to the sofa while all his preteen fans scream and cheer…..

Syesha is safe so Chikezie is going home this week.

I’m a little disappointed-I thought he had potential and would have liked to see how he grew over the next couple of weeks-although I never thought he’d be likely to win….I think he got the boot prematurely……

Without even seeing the performances next week, the bottom 3 will be Kristy Lee, Syesha and Ramiele….and unless she sings “Jesus Loves Me” to a group of AIDS orphans in Africa, I think Ms Kristy will be going home……..

I hope I’m totally surprised and get the whole lineup completely wrong….I’d love to see a completely unexpected week….hey wait…..next week is Dolly Parton week, isn’t it???  I may get my wish!!   I hope and pray that Dolly doesn’t wear a dress by the same designer that Kimberly Locke used…….
