Elimination Round 4/10/08 Top 8 down to Top 7
The recap of Idol gives Back exhausted me…I watched it for 2 ½ hours last evening, thank you-I remember it well enough not to have to require a recap and video clips of every moment less than 24 hours later….GEEZ
The beginning of the show set me off immediately…the recap of Shout to the Lord just got me all fired up and irritated again. THANKS for once again implying that only Christianity qualifies as true faith. I’d whine longer, but I’m not sure what that will accomplish except an ulcer flare up for me…..I’m working up a letter to Fox since I’m sure that Rupert Murdock will be as receptive to my input as David Cook has been to my advice about his hair. Just be warned that anyone within snarling distance who busts into a chorus of “Shout to the Lord” for me is going to hear about it.
The celebrity medley of folks singing, “I’m a believer” had me scratching my head and wondering “why am I watching this?” and “who the heck are these people?” apparently the A-list and B-list celebrities were given air time on the actual night of Idol gives back…tonight’s wanna-be celebs were forced to participate the following night when no one was watching anymore. I hope they have to make a donation to get air time. I’m happy for Jordin Sparks that her album has FINALLY gone platinum…but it took forever and I did not especially enjoy her performance with Chris Brown…it smacked of desperation. The big surprise was the bottom 3 tonight….Carly, Michael???? Syesha was expected and deserved, in my opinion. I still rank Carly as my own favorite and although I think Michael Johns is a boring wanna-be poser, I was shocked…. Surprise of the season to date-Michael is sent home on his very first visit to the bottom 3…..
Never thought he’d win, but somehow assumed he’s make the top 5 if for no other reasons other than he is tall, good-looking, has an interesting accent, and is fairly capable…..Syesha clearly has someone watching out for her upstairs….it should have been her week.
Shame on Ryan for messing with Michael, too-last year we did not send anyone home this week, blah blah blah, but this year, Michael, YOU are going home….what was THAT all about??? It was mean.
Congrats to Kristy Lee for pulling it off for another week…she is growing on me….I cannot figure out why, but she really is….maybe "crouchability" is a positive thing!
