Neil Diamond medley was probably the worst of the season-wow-they all missed the mark on every part of the performance. My ears were bleeding. Couldn’t someone have chosen better songs if the man has already released 25 albums?!??
Constantine and Gina in the audience-so now being a has-been Idol makes you a star. Interesting. I hope they come up with a format for “Fossil Idol” soon-I’m in.
Ryan’s attempt to explain Paula’s blunder just made me cringe-made it sound almost ominous…”but we love her and she’s part of the Idol family”…what? They would can her for that and not for the past 6 years of hitting on the male contestants and incoherently rambling about every performance? Someone’s got some odd priorities-I’m sure everyone in TV-Land knows how carefully orchestrated this show is-nothing spontaneous about it! Might as well give the critiques before the bad performances and just spare us the agony of hearing it live and then again when they get the boot!
Thankfully, we are now being pushed to watch the upcoming season of So You Think You Can Dance, which coincidentally begins the night after the Idol finale. Don’t know about anyone else, but I’m looking forward to severing my relationship with the recliner chair and actually getting outside to do something other than watch TV….they can keep their little dancing show.

Neil Diamond sang-why is one eye bigger than the other and how old IS his mother in the audience??? Seriously! I truly enjoyed his brass section dancing around behind him like they were the Temptations-you just don’t get to see that stuff anymore! His back-up singers also had some carefully choreographed moves and identical dresses-kind of campy.
Could have shaved at least 20 minutes off this show for me-lots of filler, Q& A that made me homicidal, Ford video crap…omigod it’s only 9:40???
And in the end….the bottom 3 are Syesha and Brooke…and TA DAH…BROOKE BUYS THE FARM TONIGHT. I could barely stomach the tears and the drama-and I was just fascinated by the reactions-did you notice how she turned to cry all over Ryan, and not Syesha? And that none of the other contestants came over to comfort her as she sang off the show? And that she TURNED HER BACK on them and walked away when she was done??? Sorry-I’m sure she was sad and disappointed, but she came across as a really calculating snot, not some sweet innocent little nanny…..very interesting……
