About Robert
While attending high school, I participated in the Panim el Panim (Face to Face) Institute for Civics and Leadership in Washington, D.C. (2004). After graduating York Suburban Senior High School (York, PA) with honors in 2006, I enrolled at prestigious Bard College (Annandale-on-Hudson, NY). I am currently attending Bard for a Bachelor’s of Arts with a joint-major in human rights and sociology. My studies have also concentrated on political science and social policy. I plan to complete my undergraduate studies in December, 2010.
I’ve been involved since I was younger, but my activism, advocacy, organizing and fundraising efforts really picked-up in high school. Between my last semester in high school and my first semester in college, I’d been covered/featured in at least 7 newspaper articles, including one in Germany, an FM radio interview, and a local-access TV program. My efforts have raised thousands of dollars over the past few years to help with relief programs in Darfur and New Orleans, as well as medical research programs, advocacy and awareness programs, and more.
I have been involved in organizing events such as the Rally to Stop Genocide in Washington, D.C. on 30 April 2006 and I’ve participated hands-on with programs such as clean-up efforts in post-Katrina New Orleans. I have attended briefings at the United States Department of State, and I have spoken at numerous schools and community events on matters of human rights.
Some of my recent work and volunteer experiences include working as a traffic control flagman for construction crews, volunteering with a fire company on the fire police squad, working for a municipal police department as a seasonal officer, and working for the Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Institute for Media, Culture, and Difference at Bard College. In late 2009, I officially established The Goodis Center for Research and Reform, LLC in the State of New York. More information on my business is available in the business sections of this blog and on my company’s website.
I have some further information available on my main website, and welcome any questions, comments, concerns or suggestions from anyone so inclined as to contact me.
